Hi,
I have been using FRV for almost 10 years, I am pretty familiar with it. I think there is a misunderstanding regarding what I am asking for, specifically regarding your comment about "Auto Exposure."
I am not asking for "Auto Exposure"
You mentioned that "applying auto exposure to a batch requires analyzing raw data." That is not what I am asking for.
I am asking for a Exposure Correction adjustment for selected files(e.g., "Write Small Step EV to these 10 XMP files").
It is technically identical to writing a Rotation, Rating or Label to a batch of XMPs. It is just a text value write operation.
I followed your instructions to use the Filter method, I am totally missing something or cant get it to work
Scenario A (Multi-Select): If I select multiple files in the browser, the Adjust Exposure Correction controls become grayed out/unclickable and Hotkeys don't work.
Scenario B if I filter the same selection (as you are recommending) I can modify Exposure but it only applies to single selected or opened file, not to all in the filtered view. So it doesn't really help i can do the same without any filters when a file is open, still would have to change on each individual file.
Scenario C (Filter & Keep Prev.): If I filter the selected files and turn on "Keep from Prev. File," I still have to linearly open every single file for the setting to stick. I cannot just apply it and move on. And it applies the EC to next file after the filter has been removed and files unselected
Scenario D : To stop this setting from applying to next file I open, I only solution i can think of would be:
Open Prefs -> Enable "Keep from Prev".
Make a Selection, Filter & Set EC and linearly go through the selection.
Open Prefs -> Disable "Keep from Prev".
Unfilter and resume culling.
This scenario D is far too convoluted and complex and i'm pretty sure that is not what your are suggestions, but nothing else works.
I'm asking if you can Please simply enable the Exposure Adjustment controls and hotkeys when multiple files are selected (currently grayed out and hotkeys don't work). So If 10 files are selected and EC modified that value is written to the 10 XMP files, exactly like you already do for Rotation, Ratings...etc
thanks
