We definitely have not seen like this before. Accodring to google search, there are several very same bug reports involving Mac OS X ripc_GetPattern function when called from Qt Toolkit (the GUI toolkit we use).
It does not have advanced FRV 1.1 Folder/Filmstrip features, but the main difference for menu/dialog case is stylesheets applied: FRV 1.1 has style reworked heavily, while 1.0.5 stylesheets are not that complex.
If 1.0.5 works for you, we'll get good direction to follow (just disable all stylesheets for testing).
