Reverting over (under)-exposed channel is the only way to show not only overexposure areas, but what exact channel is overexposed (if it is only one channel, it may be possible to use highlight recovery if raw converter supports it, so do not move such file to trash as overexposed).

It do not works well with CMYG cameras, fortunately there is no such cameras on current market.
