The red dots on your raw are noise I guess, noise causes false fine detail. You may want to try the other focus peacking mode, Preferences -> GPU processing -> High contrast edges; the default toggle key to switch between modes is "P" -- it sequences between Off – High contrast edges – Fine details – Both filters – Off.
