Lightroom operates on folders, not files, so multiple/single file open in Lr are the same.
Selecting range of files is interesting idea and not hard to implement, but what should it do if several files are already selected (eg #1, #15 and #75) and we Shift-click somewhere in the middle (e.g. to #40)?
