1.1 Upgrade Crashes immediately

Forums:

I was halfway through trial of former version and decided to follow invitation to upgrade  to 1.1
After upgrade to v 1.1 FRV opens with last recent image in thumbnail, but immediately then causes the following system error:-
Fast RAW Viewer has stopped working.
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

[CLOSE PROGRAM]
Immediatley after close button the program exits
This occurs on every attempt to start program.
I wonder if this is related to me using the Trial Version - which was very stable by the way.
Platform  Win 7 Professional 64 bit
File Nikon D810 NEF is being loaded as "recent" for previous trial session.
PS - I am going to purchase license, so if solution is easier after purchase then please instruct how to proceed.

FRV 1.1.0 introduces new features (Folders Panel and Filmstip panel). Unfortunately, these features are incompatible with some computers software configuration. This is not frequent, we have only several very similar user reports (FRV crashes on start), but these crashes are stable.

Please test FRV 1.1.1 Release Candidate1, available from here: http://updates.fastrawviewer.com/data/111rc1/ (sorry, no files description, most likely you need this file: http://updates.fastrawviewer.com/data/111rc1/FastRawViewer-1.1.1.653-x64... ). This version fixes all known FRV 1.1.0 problems.

If this version works for you, please let us know (reply in this forum or send mail to support@fastrawviewer.com)

It it not works, we need windows dump file to diagnose the problem. To create the dump:

 - when Fast RAW Viewer has stopped working prompt occurs

 - open Windows Task Manager (Ctrl-Esc)

 - Find FastRawViewer.exe process, right click on it and select 'Create dump file'

 - The dump file to be created in your %TEMP% folder. Send it to us (e.g. by uploading to Dropbox/Google Drive/MS OneDrive and send us link)

Thanks in advance.

Good News!
RC1 has solved the problem completely.
Just one comment - I noticed Auto Exposure Correction did not occur in RC1.
Yes, I had View > Exposure Correction > A   set ON and correction in Trial version was applied when opening files but not when opening file in RC1.
I checked Preferences in RC1 and discovered Image Display > Exposure Correction on  File Open was set to "no correction". This therefore overrides user toggle "A" and Toggling "A" on and off had no effect.
I have no record of former Trial preference settings. After changing Preference setting to "Auto Exposure", then auto correction was applied.
Anyway, Auto Exposure Correction is working properly now. Perhaps I had set Prefs to "Auto Exposure" in my Trial version.
Thanks

Dear Sir,

glad to hear that 1.1.1-RC1 solves crash problems on your computer.

In version 1.0.3 (or so) we changed default Auto-Exposure behaviour: it is off now to better match other raw processing software standard settings (Adobe and so).  The standard key for Auto-Exposure remain as it was: Shitf-A (while 'A' without Shift turns applied correction on/off).

Also, if you have re-visited already tuned files, then exposure adjustment may be already stored in sidecar .XMP files. In this case, Auto-Exposure is not be applied, but Exposure value from .XMP will be used.
