Zoom 100% to clicked point

Depending on monitor size, it can sometimes be difficult to judge if an image is in focus at the right place.

The shortcut to zoom will always zoom to the center of the image, but that is not necessarily the correct place. Especially with portraits. How often do you place the eyes of a person dead center in the image? :-)

So I would like to be able to use the mouse and click on a point to quickly zomm to 100% centered on that particular point. Then click to get out again. It is the best way I can think of to check that I have focus at the right place.
Any chance of getting a feature like this? Or maybe there is a way already that I have not found?

Dear Sir:

please make sure you have not unchecked Preferences - Zoom - Zoom anchour at mouse cursor (default is: checked)

This setting affects both mouse and keyboard zoom (zoom in/out and toggle zoom).

THANK YOU!!

That solved one of my workflow problems :-)

Like Oceanwatcher, I consider it extremely important for the viewer to offer the fastest possible way to check sharpness in an image at 100%, i.e. 1:1 zoom ratio. This is excruciatingly slow in Lightroom and my number one reason to use another app for preselection at all. The best implementation I have found so far is in in Nikon’s VievNX-i: In single image view, you can point the mouse cursor at the desired spot, click and hold the mouse button to temporarily zoom to 1:1 (and pan if necessary), and finally release the mouse button to display the whole image again. This is more efficient than using both the mouse (to select the spot with a click) and the keyboard (to toggle between full image and 1:1 by pressing the Z key). Since a single or double click on a photo in single image view does not appear to have any other purpose in FastRawViewer than to select the area to zoom, why not combine it with this very action that is the most likely one to follow in just about 100% of all cases anyway? As the app’s name implies, workflow speed is essential, and any superfluous keystroke or mouse action slows down the preselection process.

Dear Sir:

FastRawViewer supports Quick-Zoom-and-Pan and Quick-Zoom-and-Drag modes. By default, these modes are assigned to Shift-Right-Mouse-click and Shift-Left-Click, respectively.

You can reassign it to just Click, using Keyboard shortcut editor: https://www.fastrawviewer.com/usermanual14/keyboard-shortcuts (despite the name, it allows to edit mouse button actions too).

Please note, if you reassign something on right click, you'll lose context menu in single image window. If you'll use left mouse for zoom, you'll unable to drag from this window. So, if you use multi-button mouse, it is better to use extra mouse buttons for quick zoom modes.
