I would also like to have a subfolders feature, at least for search. My usecase (real): 15-years archive that survived several PCs. Its a little messy now, with a lot of "Last session", "From old Disk C", "Selected" and so on, nested.
There's a low-resoluton jpeg for which I want an original RAW file. EXIF is present so I know the timestamp. Unfortunatelly native windows search seems to work with exif for jpegs only.
So for me search in subfolders using metadata will be useful.
