Can't move multiple files to rejected folder

I am using windows 10 professional with the new release of FastRawViewer ver 1.5. I select multiple rejected files to move them to the rejected folder, but only one file is moved and I have to select them individually and them move them. Is there any workaround or solution. With a large number of rejects, moving them individually is cumbersome.

Dear Bill,

The issue is with how you select the photos. To add a file to selection one needs either to use Ctrl-Click, or to click on a checkbox in the upper right corner of the thumbnail.

The main reason for this is to avoid destroying the whole selection with an accidental mouse click.

You can switch to a more familiar method of selection. To do so, please uncheck the box in Preferences – Grid/Filmstrip – Advanced selection mode: accidental click does not ruin selection.

Operations with multiple files is covered in the Manual, "Operations with Multiple Files", page 56.

For your convenience, FastRawViewer Manual comes with the installation (main Menu - Help - "PDF Manual") and is fully searchable. You can also download it separately from - direct link is

Hope that helps, but please e-mail us with any questions.

I have a similar issue running 1.5.0, build 1472 in Windows 10.
The multiple file handling works in grid view as stated above, but NOT from the filmstrip.   I have "checked" the box in the upper right for each photo to be moved to rejected folder.

Dear Sir:

In Single View mode (single file in main window + optional filmstrip), the Menu - File - Move/Copy items will act on the current file. This is 'by design' (because most other programs, like Lightroom, also works this way).

To move multiple files in filmstrip mode:

  • either use context menu  in filmstip (right click on a thumbnail belonging to the set of selected files)
  • or uncheck 'Single file keys works for multiple files too' in settings. This will result in
    • Menu - File - Move/Copy will always work on single file
    • Menu - Select/Batch - Move/Copy will always work on selected files

I found this discussion after searching for a way to moved multiple rejected files at once.  I navigate thumbnails in the Filmstrip mode while keeping the main window in single file view so I can see a higher res view of the selected file.
I selected 7 images in filmstrip mode, and used CMD+Shift+Delete. As you know, this only works on the "current file" in the selection in filmstrip mode. If I do the same thing in Grid view, all the files move to the rejected folder as intended.  I understand that I can right click and select "move to _Rejected global folder", but it is inconvenient to have to right click vs the flow you get from hotkeys.
I only use the filmstrip mode because there is no way to have a window in single file view while also navigating the grid view. It would be ideal to browse files in grid view while also having the single image view in another window. There are so many useful features in grid view that filmstrip lacks. Would it be possible to have a dedicate single image view panel so you can still browse and reject selections of files in grid mode while viewing a larger view?  Or a toggle that lets Filmstrip mode act like grid mode when it comes to moving multiple selected files to _Rejected?

There are two possibilities here:

  1. Uncheck the Preferences - Selection - Single file keys works for multiple files too (I assume you use FastRawViewer Version2, in V1 this setting is in Grid/Filmstrip group)

This will result in separate hotkeys for selected files (you'll need to assign shortcut to Menu - Select/Batch - move to rejected
  2. Drag Filimstrip panel either out of main program window (e.g. to second monitor) or to left or right dock areas.

You may resize Filmstrip to have multiple rows after that, so it will behave like 'Grid'

Here is example screenshot of such setup:
