Hi... maybe I've got a setting wrong in FRV somewhere but last week I changed the picture control settings on my Nikon to Monochrome to experiment with learning to see images in black and white. I shoot raw so this setting only changes the jpg preview file that displays on the camera's LCD screen, the raw file captures and retains all the colour information. However, upon viewing in FRV, the thumbnails on grid view are all in black and white. (Note that when I view the image in full size, it is in colour). Is there a way to have the thumbnail display in colour?

Hej !
I have looked in the manual and in the forum, but not found this:
I wonder if one can see the raw data presented in its very raw version, ie
- as it comes of the sensor
- debayered, but before "auto-corrected", tonemapped
The raw picyure of now is nice looking, but as i understand is an interpretation of how it might (should) look. In other softwares there are different interpretations, like Lightroom, Affinity and so on.
I could use this when i tech photography and discuss the similarities of cg linear (we make 3d images for clients)

Hi,
Can someone please tll me how to use the "Trash" in Mac as a Global rejected folder. I tried different ways to no avail.
I want to make sure I don't have lingering "trash folders" everywhere as my intention is to delete the rejected files automatically.
Thanks for your help in advance.

I have recently changed to Capture One 11 for raw conversion. My process recipes are for TIFF Adobe RGB (16 bit) sharp screen, TIFF Adobe RGB (16 bit) sharp print, and JPEG sRGB 1600px for web. What settings do you recommend in Fast Raw Viewer for the Image Display/Exposure preferences? Thank you,
Jean-Claude

Maybe I've missed this but is there a way to have FRV write the XMP changes internally in a DNG rather than as a sidecar?

Hi team, loving getting to know FRV and it's almost everything I need for image review and cull before ingestion to lightroom... one thing that would make it even better would be the ability to view / compare images side by side for comparison. I think this has been mentioned in the forum before. Any plans to introduce this in new versions?

I'm testing a trial version of this sofware, and trying to make a decision to purchase it or not. So far, I'm quite impressed but have issues. Using MacOS High Sierra, and working with photos already in my hard drive.
I ‘rejected’ 3 photos all in the same folder. A new subfolder appeared underneath labeled _Rejected but with only one of the 3 rejected photos. The other two photos, no idea where they went. No problem. I was going to delete them anyway. The photo in this folder has no rating or label at all.

Hi team,
Vertically oriented images being viewed in FRV are needing to be manually rotated despite having auto-rotation on in my camera settings.
I use a Nikon D7100.
Please can you advise if this is an error or am I missing something in the preferences?
Thanks!
Depending on monitor size, it can sometimes be difficult to judge if an image is in focus at the right place.
The shortcut to zoom will always zoom to the center of the image, but that is not necessarily the correct place. Especially with portraits. How often do you place the eyes of a person dead center in the image? :-)

Using Canon 5DSR and Nikon 850 as examples, do any of the camera settings effect the values of the Bayer data in the raw file? Of course, this excludes exposure settings like Av, Tv, exposure compensation, and ISO.
Thanks in advance.
