FastRawViewer: questions, suggestions, feature requests.

Saving White Balance

I just got FastRawViewer on 09/12/2016 so I haven't been using it for very long.  I went into a folder of RAW files and was going through them pictures one at a time and I found when I set a white balance by Alt-Clicking to sample an area everything looked OK.  I went along working on some more and found when I went back to any of the ones I had already set up the white balance no longer showed the custom one I made.  How do you get the program to write the settings to the XMP file so that when you return to a shot it will still have the setting you made.  I am used to the XMP files created

Set white balance for all selected files?

Is it possible to select a number of files and then set white balance for all of them? I'd guess that this would mean creating 'sidecar' files for each of the selected files - which might not be fast.  And the app is named FastRawViewer, so I may be looking for something that isn't there.

JPEG with embedded XMP=ratings (large catalog)

Hi,
this may eventually belong in the feature request section but this is apparently a topic you have been through a couple of times already so I thought I should try the waters in the general section before eventually posting this as a feature request.

HowTo? Show EXIF for "Focus Mode" being Manual or AF? Filter by whether Manual or AF?

Is there a way for FRV to show the EXIF value for "Focus Mode"?
RawDigger shows this EXIF entry in Canon and Sony MakerNotes. There are variants of "Manual" and variants of AF (such as AF-S)
I'd like to be able to use FRV to filter which captures were made with Manual Focus.
Is there a way to Filter on this EXIF value?
If this isn't currently possible, could it be a "Feature Request"? Is there some kind of work-around?

First Impressions

Here are my first impressions of FastRawViewer after 3 culling sessions.

The good (why i love it)
The bad (issues)
The ugly (what’s to improve)

FastRawViewer .xmp file to Capture NX-D

I am just learning, so please forgive my ignorance . . .
I am intending to use FRV as an initial culling program, including minor adjustments (exposure, white balance, etc).  I then want to open the RAW (Nikon NEF) file by Capture NX-D to make further adjustments.  I've noticed that the RAW file as displayed in Capture NX-D does not include the adjustment(s) made in FRV.  Apparently the .xmp file is not being read by Capture NX-D.  Any thoughts and/or suggestions???

Import video

I am using FastRawViewer to cull Raw files before importing into Lightroom.
Can't see an option in FastRawViewer to cull video. As I have both video and photos on the card this makes workflow more complicated.
Is there any plan to allow culling and moving of video in FRV?

XMP Sidecar - Adobe Lightroom CC

Hi there!

I want to import the color labels, i added during the culling process into lightroom cc. But it doesn't work,
In Lightroom, if i right click on a single or multiple pictures and select "load metadata from file" nothing happens. :(

The strange thing tough, if i give the pictures star ratings in FastRawviewer it works that way.

I use the latest Version of FastRawViewer ( FastRawViewer-1.3.1.922) @ OSX 10.10

HowTo? Integrate with Sony Remote Camera Control for tethering?

Sorry if I missed this in the FRV documentation.
I have used Canon DSLR's with EOS Utility plus Lightroom plus Win-7 plus laptop for on-location tethering. It works, although LR can be pretty sluggish.

I was able to use my Sony a7Rii this weekend with Sony's PlayMemories "Remote Camera Control" (RCC) for tethering. I was using a somewhat wimpy Intel i3 based HP-Split laptop with Win-10 plus touchscreen but without SSD. I don't have Lightroom installed on it, but rather FastRawViewer.

Ugrade from a trial 1.2 version

I have one simple question. I already had the previous version installed on my laptop, which I was using for trial purposes. The trial period has expired but since I had customized the version heavily, I would prefer to keep those settings for 1.3 as well.

So my question is whether I will be able to keep the settings of an older trial version when I buy the license and upgrade to version 1.3. Or do I have to install version 1.3 afresh and redo all the customizations.
