FastRawViewer: questions, suggestions, feature requests.

Thanks

I just wanted to thank you folks for such an outstanding piece of software.  I took the time to read through all the forum comments before giving you my feedback, and I discovered that it is not necessary as you already have plans to deal with my priorities: favourite folders, filter by metadata (rating and label) and compare images.  It is so rare to see software that is well designed, lean, flexible, efficient, ergonomic and stable and such a pleasure to be able to communicate with the owners/engineers.

Thanks for the (extended) Labor Day sale

This satisfied customer was overdue to buy one or both of the RD / FRV utilities.

License transfer

Hi Everyone,
I am going to buy FRV for Mac Os X, however I need to ask you a question about license: my Mac is old and about to die ;) and I think I'll switch to Windows within 2-3 months. Can I use the same license with FRV for Windows?
Thank you

Option to change Active Picture (Selected) after a Reject (Move)?

I'm new to FRV so plesae forgive me if this has been mentioned or there's been a fixed. Currently, after I reject a picture (moving to reject folder), FRV would select the next picture but sometime it would select the previous for some reason. I would like to force it to select the next picture to save a step. Is there a setting for this? Perhaps I'm just missing out something. Please advise, thank you.

Does FastRawViewer support Touchscreen?

I'm searching a software to sort out my RAW pictures on a tablet. No keyboard, no mouse.
Does FastRawViewer support touchscreens?
If yes, what are your experience?

Comparing images

Is there a way to view 2-4 images at hi magnification side-by-side?  The way FastStone Viewer does?

FRV ratings/labels not written to DNG files?

I'm finding that if my original raw files are converted to DNG using Adobe DNG Converter, and then assigned ratings or labels in FRV, the info is written to an XMP file it creates rather than to the DNG file. Abobe Bridge and Lightroom then ignore the newly created XMP, as they seem to expect all metadata to be in the DNG. Is there a way to assign ratings/labels to DNG files in FRV, and be able to read them in the Adobe programs?

Selecting images based on rating?

Hey guys. I really like your software, however I cannot figure out how to select all images based on specific rating at once. For example, in the directory containing 30 images, how can I with one shortcut select all that have rating of 5?
Is there something I am missing?
Cheers,
Wojtek

Rating and Labeling jpegs, displaying ONLY RAW images, filenames in bottom bar

I'll throw this into a new topic...
On occasion I have to capture images in jpeg format.  When this happens, I frequently have both RAW images and jpegs (not RAW+JPEG, separate images) in the folder.  At present, I haven't been able to find a way to tell FRV NOT to display the jpegs.  I've been through the manual, searching on a variety of terms for how to display only camera-specific RAWs, tiffs, and .dngs.  I can't find a way...

Assessing sharpness (and other comments)

I am just trying our FRV and very much like most of what I see.  However I am having trouble assessing the sharpness of images as part of the selection process.  Am I doing something wrong?
If I view at 100% all images look quite unsharp (even if they are good, when viewed in LR) Is this normal?    If I use either edge or detail selections, almost all edges show up as contrasty/sharp which doesn't really help.   Is there a way of setting the sensitivity of E and D so they are more useful in picking best images?
Just a couple of other comments.
